　・ 「 眼窩の下壁に位置し、4直筋のうち最も短いが、上直筋よりも作用は強い。 」 （ 日本人体解剖学 ）

【 起 始 】：　「 総腱輪から起こり、前外側下方に走る。本筋は、眼窩の下壁に接して位置するが、その前部は下斜筋により骨壁から隔てられている。」 （ 日本人体解剖学 ）

　　　　　　　　総腱輪　：　眼窩の後方にある視神経を輪状に囲んでいる4つの直筋群の起始部となる部分

【 停 止 】：　「 強膜下方の赤道前部」 （ 日本人体解剖学 ）

 

「 眼球の前極を下内側方に（下転および内転）、上極を外側方（外側方外転）に引く。」 （ 日本人体解剖学 ）

 

　・神 経 ： 動眼神経 （第3脳神経）

　・脈 管 ： 動脈）前毛様体動脈（眼動脈の枝）？　恐らく静脈もそれに準じるものだと思われる。

　The inferior rectus muscle is a muscle in the orbit.

【 Innervation 】
As with most of the muscles of the orbit, it is innervated by the inferior division of oculomotor nerve ( Cranial Nerve III ).

It depresses, adducts, and helps extort the eye.
The inferior rectus muscle is the only muscle that is capable of depressing the pupil when it is in a fully abducted position.[1]
